Abstract

Abstract : Low achievement of student learning because of many students fells shy asking to teachers about the material which is not understood, particularly in circle number material. This is caused by teachers who are less to correlate mathematic with student’s real context. As a consequence, students are less to understand mathematical concepts and students experience the difficulty to correlate mathematical concepts in daily activity. Learning method which is used in this research is buzz group learning method. This research aims to improve student’s activity and learning achievement on circle number material. Research type which is used is classroom action research (CAR) which is done in two cycles in which every cycle has two meetings, one meeting for learning process and one meeting for evaluation. Instruments which are used in this research are lesson plan, student and teacher observation sheet, evaluation sheet and student worksheet. Learning percentage data is collected through evaluation in the last cycle whereas student’s and teacher’s activity data are collected through observation sheet. Through evaluation result analysis, overall from every cycle, it can be seen that there is an increase of learning result percentage in classical and in the first cycle with 58, 82%, in the second with 88, 23%. Whereas student’s activity also increases from the first cycle to the second cycle with so active category. With seeing learning process and evaluation result in this research, this can be concluded that the application of buzz group learning method can improve student’s activity and learning achievement at MTs Rabhiatussa’adah Lendang tengak
